I have directly trained and coached more than 70 members on sales, market analysis and negotiation to support AIESEC’s business development strategy while contributing to these members’ individual development. I improved my skills in negotiation and communication by being the account manager of key partners and developing partnerships with new companies. I have created a national framework on communication and I have networked with leaders of different industries and acquired a deep understanding of Belgian business environment.

I was responsible for a program that has sent over 70 young Belgians abroad this year on life-changing international experiences. I was working together with different stakeholders to increase the impact of the exchange program, and contribute to the overall goals of the organization. I regularly connected with other young people throughout our global network to provide more opportunities, and to increase the quality of the program we offer. I handled global and national data, and created innovative ideas for growth.

This year as MCVP TM / LC Development of AIESEC in Belgium has been absolutely rewarding. Working with people from 5 different countries added value to the learning experience throughout the term; the year was full of great moments but also challenges, that made the year unforgettable and full of growth in a professional and personal perspective.

My experience has been very challenging and rewarding. So many opportunities, new ideas, people from different countries around! I have managed and developed 13 partnerships for the Global Exchange Program bringing 48 top talents from all over the world for traineeships in Belgium. I feel how fast I have been developing professionally and personally, loving every person I meet and every moment I live.

I went on a Management Internship with Evolution Markets, the world’s largest environmental broker, in New Delhi, India from the end of August last year till July this year. After doing my Master Thesis at the Catholic University of Leuven on European emissions trading, I was delighted to work as a carbon broker in this rapidly developing nation for ten months.
I worked together with 15 people, of which three were also AIESEC interns, coming from Colombia, Spain and the USA. My other colleagues were Indian – most of them studied or worked in Europe or the US before – and had a variety of backgrounds: Hindu, Muslim or Sikh. The thing I enjoyed the most on this internship was the opportunity to explore an amazing country like India and to make many short or longer trips, for example a tour of the palaces of Rajasthan, skiing in Kashmir, rafting on the Ganges, hiking in Nepal, New Year’s eve in Thailand, tiger spotting in the National Parks… Before going on this internship, I was highly skeptical about the so-called ‘life-changing’ experience, but after doing it myself, I really believe in it and recommend it to everyone. I lived together with people from every continent, was introduced to the Indian cuisine, got to know Indian society and its culture, learned a lot of things at my work and even learned some Hindi!
